Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a fantastic award to be involved in and is undoubtedly highly respected by employers and universities alike. Lady Lumley's School is able to offer students the opportunity to participate in Bronze, Silver and Gold level of the Award. The Award is run by Mr Bircumshaw and Mr Mann and currently there are training sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. In addition to this direct entry to the Gold Award is available via the Sixth Form's Enrichment programme.

The Award requires commitment from participants and once completed, is a powerful tool on your CV. Our recent expeditions have taken place in the Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds. In the future we intend to use the Yorkshire Dales and beyond for expeditions.

Participants are entitled to a 15% discount at http://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com. Please see Mr Mann for more details. I have also enclosed a selection of documents that are essential for groups taking part in the expedition. Participants should also be familiar with the Award's website, which provides advice and resources for those involved: http://www.theaward.org

For more information please see Mr Mann.
